Nuclear Material Systems Engineer

A dynamic opportunity for professional growth awaits! The Systems Engineer will work with government scientists and engineers and provide systems engineering support for fielded systems to monitor operational safety, suitability and effectiveness (OSS&E) at the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), located on Patrick AFB, FL. The Systems Engineer will have demonstrated expertise in overseeing product development strategies and technology improvement initiatives, supporting cross-functional teams in gathering and translating complex project requirements and delivering solutions that meet defined objectives. Their experience must include systems engineering processes and computer systems analysis practices and procedures.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

Position contingent on contract award.


  • Apply and interpret the formal Systems Engineering processes.
  • Provide periodic reports on system effectiveness, identifying any degradation and recommending corrective course(s) of action.
  • Provide systems engineering support ensuring traceability of system design OSS&E.
  • Provide systems engineering support ensuring program production articles meet OSS&E through Low-Rate initial production (LRIP) to Full Rate Production (FRP) and deployment.
  • Support acquisition and sustainment of systems and software development, testing, and evaluation of improvements to fielded systems and equipment in support of the mission.
  • Conduct risk reviews for fielded systems in accordance with Air Force Risk Management best practices.


  • Systems Engineering skills required to perform the areas of responsibilities noted above
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to communicate with executives.
  • General experience using Microsoft Project, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.


Bachelor degree (8+ yrs. experience) or Master degree (5+ yrs. experience) in a relevant area of study, preferably, a systems engineering degree.


  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must have a fully adjudicated (not an interim) Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Must pass drug test.
