AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Jr. Transportation Planner I for employment in the New York, New York office.

This opportunity is anticipated to begin in June 2020.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.

  • Reviewing or assisting in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.

  • Preparing and presenting detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.

  • Collecting various statistical data and preparing reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.

  • Assisting in evaluating re-zonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, special use permits, variances and other proposals.

  • Coordinating community review of public and private development projects.

  • Providing information to the public regarding development regulations.

  • Assisting in resolving citizen and customer issues.

  • Conducting field evaluations and assessments under direct supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Traffic or Transportation Engineering/Design, or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Transportation Planning or Civil Engineering.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
