SAIC is currently looking for Digital Engineering expertise to support SE&I activities for the Launch Enterprise (ECL) at SMC. The ECL SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support, and subject matter expertise to the SMC/ECL Directorate.  This position is located at El Segundo, CA. You will use your knowledge of systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and program roles to help develop, implement, and deploy digital engineering solutions and services for use with ECL. 


Job Specific Responsibilities:
  • Planning and executing digital engineering model development to support architecture development and initiatives in support of program milestones
  • Applying digital engineering tools and techniques to capture system functions, services, interfaces, requirements and concept of operations
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Design, developing plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, documentation preparation for complex systems
  • Areas of specialization include digital engineering architectures, system of systems modelling environment, and model based system engineering


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors (STEM) and ten (10) years or more experience as system engineer, technical PM or other related areas
  • Clearance level: TS/SCI

  • Solid understanding of engineering models, digital engineering environments, and digital engineering tools.

  • Intermediate/advance experience using enterprise modeling tools to model complex systems using SysML, UPDM, BPMN, and/or UAF

  • Exposure to multidisciplinary analysis and optimization tools (Model Center, Simulia, etc) and event based management tools (iRIS)

  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment

  • Working knowledge of space launch systems and processes

  • Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives

  • Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of DoDI 5000.02 and JCIDS process
  • Practical experience with IEEE 15288

  • INCOSE Certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP) dependent on experience

  • OMG Certified System Modeling Professional (OCSMP)

  • Experience leading SE teams through all phases of the system engineering lifecycle using Digital Engineering (MBSE)

  • Experience or familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework Environment (SAFe)

  • Experience of familiarity with administration of Model Based Engineering Tools

  • Broad Model Based Engineering Application and Technology background
