Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in the Kaiserslautern, Germany area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Works effectively on US Army Garrison (USAG) systems with little direction, but may require some instruction and guidance for other aspects.  Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the implementation and Operation and Maintenance of hardware and software within the USAG System Architecture.  Manage systems planning and integration when establishing parallel server and client systems.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The installation, configuration, and system administration of Garrison Mission Information Systems (GMIS) running AGM compliant Windows Server 2016 and or 2019 and Windows 10 Enterprise workstation systems.
  • Configuration, maintenance, and administration of GMIS Active Directory infrastructure to include directory structure, user and computer account administration.
  • Administer and maintain various GMIS Virtual information systems, SQL databases, specialized application servers/services.
  • Implement DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on Garrison Information Systems.
  • Test and deploy DoD STIG Group Policy Objects (GPO's) to ensure system compliance with DoD and US Army security standards.
  • Creates and maintains system artifacts to include NETCOM compliant Hardware / Software listings, Network, Boundary and Dataflow diagrams.
  • Conducts GMIS Security Controls self - assessment in preparation for system accreditation.
  • Establish and maintain GMIS Ports, Protocols, Services, and Management records in the SIPR PPSM Registry.
  • Conducts monthly ACAS vulnerability assessments of GMIS in accordance with DoD and US Army requirements.
  • Conducts Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) either through ACAS or SCAP tool of GMIS.
  • Provide TIER I/II Network System Administration of GMIS Closed Restricted Network (CRN) firewall and or switches.
  • Administer and maintain the USAG RP S6 ACAS vulnerability mobile workstation to include maintaining and updating ACAS Security Center and Nessus and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x – 7.x.
  • Works directly with GMIS owners, NEC, RCC-E, USAREUR, AMC/IMCOM Cyber Security, and vendor technical support services to report and resolve Information Security and or technical issues.
  • Assist Information System Owner with the development and implementation of their Information system Lifecycle replacement.
  • Assist Information System Owner with maintaining and updating their Army Portfolio Management System (APMS) and eMASS system records.
  • Assist Information System Owner with remediating Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) items from unit/command inspections and or evaluations.
  • Assist the USAG RP S6 ISSM and or Director with responding to AMC – IMCOM Taskers and or OPORDs.
  • Assist the USAG RP S6 ISSM and or Director with formulating and executing CyberSecurity polices and or requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (DoD RMF) Accreditation and Assessment process is essential to ensuring Garrison Mission Information System are FISMA compliant throughout their full System and Security Development LifeCycle.
  • Working knowledge of NIST Special Publication 800 Series documents for Risk Management, Risk Management, and or Security Controls, FIPS 199, FIPS 200, CNSSI 1253, DoDI 8500.01, 8510.01, 8551.01.
  • Priority will be on the ability to implement DoD and industry Information Security Best Practices to Garrison Mission Information Systems while maintaining proper system and or application functionality.

Certifications:

- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP or equivalent)

- ITIL Foundation certification required within 90 days of hire.

- Obtain within 6 months of hire:  Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).

- The following industry certifications are preferred: MCSA in Windows Server 2016 and or 2019; MCSE in Windows Server or desktop infrastructure; MCTS Windows Server 2016 and or 2019; MCTS SCCM

Security Clearance Requirements:   Current Secret w/ SSBI or Top Secret clearance (Mandatory); will process for Top Secret (Must be U.S. Citizen)

Work location:  Kaiserslautern, Germany. 

Travel: Projected travel once a month to various Garrison installations to conduct necessary system administration and ACAS vulnerability assessment of GMIS Stand-Alone and or in Closed Restricted Networks.  Will require occasional TDY to support Garrison Mission Information Systems in Romania and or Bulgaria.

May be required to forward deploy to support systems during operations/exercises in remote or austere locations. 

Work hours:  Normal daytime working hours, 40 hrs/week
