Duties and Responsibilities:
Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) is the center of technical excellence for developing, acquiring, fielding, and sustaining military space systems. SAIC supports SMC’s mission and is currently looking for systems engineers to conduct research, analysis, planning, engineering, and valuation activities for the Production Corps at SMC. Tasks will include independently identify high-risk areas associated with development and production of space systems. Individuals shall establish benefits, impacts, and risks associated with technical decisions in order to reduce, mitigate, and avoid negative impacts to the Mission Area programs as well as the associated users and stakeholders with a focus on process and integration improvement. This position is located at El Segundo, CA.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Analyze current and future requirements, threats, constraints, and trends
Research and provide assessments and recommendations on the effects of the latest guidance applications, streamlining, and standardization of systems to include assessing technical performance, cost, schedule, risk, and contractual issues and considerations.
Research and assess technical developments for RDT&E and Production Corps programs providing recommendations to integrate systems at the enterprise level and across the Production Corps, associated SMC Corps, and Mission Areas.
Research, analyze, and document risks and issues to recommend improvements for programs including system designs, standards, specifications, networks, solutions, components, applications, systems, tools, configurations, processes, and technologies.
Perform engineering and technical analyses for system implementation for the Production Corps including integration across the SMC Corps and Mission Areas.
Research, analyze, and conduct technical assessments of multiple programs for successful deployment and integration throughout the respective programs, associated SMC Corps, and Mission Areas.
Research, analyze, and conduct technical assessments, analyses, studies, reports, reviews, estimates, surveys, and investigations to document program performance.
Research, analyze, and provide recommendations to deconflict and field numerous concurrent projects with new capabilities delivered by the Production Corps with minimal impacts to warfighters, users, and operators.
Research, analyze, conduct analysis of alternatives with recommended solutions for an Integrated Data Environment (IDE) application that can track, visualize, and analyze programmatic information with the ability to manage mission capability as an enterprise as SMC re-architects into SMC 2.0 on an agile development basis
May lead and direct the work of others.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Fifteen (15) years of applicable SMC program experience
DoD Secret required; TS/SCI clearance highly desired
Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives
Work proficiently on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
Model-Based Systems Engineering/Digital Engineering Experience
