Description

SAIC is pursuing a ground-breaking opportunity in support of the U.S. Space Development Agency’s (SDA) acceleration in development and fielding of new military space capabilities. SAIC is looking for motivated, innovative, career and customer-oriented individuals to join our team in support of this space effort and provide SDA with architecture concepts, systems, technologies, and capabilities that enable futuristic improvements for U.S. space based capabilities. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness with the ability to apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts in support of the SDA’s mission.

 

The candidate for this position will support the entire SAIC effort in support of SDA, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Perform Systems Engineering activities in the areas of Cybersecurity/Information Assurance (IA)/System Security Engineering (SSE), and security Assessment & Authorization (A&A) in accordance with NIST 800-53 RMF

  • Apply an inter-disciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate, and verify Cyber solutions across the lifecycle

  • Define security requirements, architecture, design, and certification & accreditation for embedded and large-scale, distributed DoD space and ground control systems

  • Apply risk management concepts to mitigate vulnerabilities in system security architectures

  • Develop, evaluate and analyze design constraints, trade-offs and detailed system and security design as they pertain to the Cyber domain

  • Interface with the customer, system stakeholders, and external contractors to coordinate Cybersecurity requirements and architecture flow down from the system level to individual elements of the system

The candidate will be responsible for these specific duties:

  • Cyber space operations

  • Situational awareness


Qualifications

Candidate Skills and Experience:
  • Provide thought leadership and innovative solution design addressing the SDA mission

  • Proven pioneer in space related capabilities or innovation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Master’s degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and two (2) years or more experience

  • CISSP or other equivalent DoD 8570 IAT III Certification

  • Proven experience with employment of DoD cybersecurity requirements, policies and procedures

  • Experience with vulnerability and compliance assessments mitigation

  • Ability to provide guidance o DoD Cyber regulations and requirements to engineering and software development staff

  • 3+years of work experience in Cyber Security/Information Assurance, desired

  • 3+ years of work experience executing the discipline and practice of Systems Engineering for satellite system(s), desired

  • Proven ability to interact effectively with colleagues

  • Excellent written and oral (briefing) communication skills

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
