Description

SAIC is seeking a seasoned space systems and acquisition professional to provide acquisition and technical support to the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center, Special Capabilities Division Special Programs (SMC/SP). SMC/SP equips U.S. forces with space control systems to gain, maintain, and exploit space superiority. It directs the planning, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of a complex and dynamic portfolio of space-superiority capabilities of the highest national priority.


The position requires an individual with experience in technical program management of large-scale space and ground systems and/or new start technical demonstration of space and ground systems in support of the USAF. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to perform swiftly within high performance teams. In addition, the candidate will be expected to continually balance and adjust work priorities to meet short-term tasks and adjust to rapidly evolving customer needs. The position is based in El Segundo, CA.  Qualified applicants must possess as active TS/SCI clearance.

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform independent risk assessments and evaluations of program execution.  Support execution of milestone reviews under the DoD 5000.02 framework and technical reviews in compliance with SMC standards. 
Coordinate Government activities and prime contractor, sub-contractor, and vendor oversight efforts throughout the system life-cycle. Provide technical and acquisition support to Government and contractor activities to assess progress and identify/resolve issues.  Ensure program level documentation is aligned with higher headquarters guidance for program planning and execution.  Must be able to work independently.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree and minimum 10-13+ years of related experience providing technical and acquisition support to Government including program management, planning and guidance throughout the system life-cycle of space and/or ground systems in support of the USAF
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance is required

  • Masters / Advanced Degree
  • Directly related program management experience of large-scale space and ground systems and/or new start technical demonstration of space and ground systems.
