TS/SCI with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Clearance is required.

Location: DC, Maryland, Virginia area.

Job Description:

The Administrative Assistant position performs a variety of administrative duties providing mission support in one or more functions or business areas within the agency Directorates/Offices. The nature of Administrative Assistant work encompasses various transactional activities and requires general knowledge of basic administrative processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a schedule of appointment for a manager office.
  • Answers routine telephone calls, directs calls and takes messages.
  • Greets and escorts visitors.
  • Retrieves, sorts, and distributes incoming mail, newspapers, faxes and other publications/documents.
  • Arranges for the delivery of outgoing mail/packages with the mailroom.
  • Prepares travel/training arrangements and processes travel/training accounting/vouchers for the program office.
  • Drafts, proofreads, edits and coordinates correspondence.
  • Performs research and retrieves information from databases and other resources.
  • Maintains tracking records and filing systems; archives files.
  • Maintains, updates and serves as a focal point for databases or spreadsheets.
  • Assists in planning, scheduling, organizing, and execution of meetings, events, conferences, and off-sites.
  • Participates in meetings and events: may serve as recorder and may position related information.
  • Prepares access roster and requests security clearance transfers.
  • Assists in order supplies/equipment and arranging for office equipment repairs.
  • Performs administrative back up support for other offices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma OR GED Equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience.
