Duties and Responsibilities:


Summary:

 

Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) is the center of technical excellence for developing, acquiring, fielding, and sustaining military space systems.  SAIC supports SMC’s mission and is currently looking for a Training Analyst to support systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities for the Launch Enterprise at SMC. This position is located at Vandenberg AFB, CA.  Key aspects of this oversight will include the following:

  • Requirements Validation
  • Test & Integration

  • Launch Vehicle, Payload and Launch Site Integration

  • Day of Launch Activities

  • Launch Mission Assurance activities, in cooperation with FFRDC

  • Launch Integration Scheduling

  • Coordination with launch vehicle providers, satellite developers, associate contractors, FFRDC, and launch program office teams

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and conduct courses of instructions related to launch site training and range operations training or any general/specific functional areas as required;
  • Analyze organizational and operational processes to identify knowledge/skill deficiencies and recommend training requirements;

  • Develop programs to fulfill requirements that may be complex in nature including identifying appropriate and specific training equipment, material, methods, and media;

  • Coordinate the maintenance and development of training material to ensure integration with on-going system development and operations;

  • Perform the lead role in all phases of Instructional Design or advises lower level employees;

  • Serves as day-to-day project manager and designer/developer on many projects;

  • Coordinate the development and delivery of training programs in support of complex products and procedures and/or for a major area or customer;

  • Update course documentation to ensure timeliness and relevance

  • Provides work leadership for lower level employees, including evaluating the effectiveness of their training presentations and programs;

  • May conduct complex courses from start to completion or assist other instructors and lower level trainers in the classroom.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • TS/SCI Clearance Required
  • Bachelors degree and five (5) years experience as a training developer, program manager, or acquisitions in any of the following relevant areas:

    • NSSL launches or experience involving launch vehicles used in NSSL launches or similar category with other federal agencies such as NASA, NOAA, NSA, etc.

    • Launch vehicles used in NSSL launches or similar category with commercial launches, or experience involving launch vehicles used orbital launches other than those described in 1 above.

    • Ballistic missile launches, launch process and operations experience, mission integration experience, experience involving ground systems, experience involving other than launch vehicle propulsion comparable to launch propulsion.

  • Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives;
  • Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.
