AECOM is seeking a Project Manager for our Boston office, who wants to apply their passion and enthusiasm towards exciting and challenging projects supporting the US Army Corps of Engineers for U.S. Government Programs and other high profile clients. We help shape the world around us — from complex building designs such as radar and tactical support facilities, administrative, operation and maintenance facilities to large campus style projects.

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.

  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.

  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.

  • Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Program Manager, overseeing project managers and their projects

  • Helping with proposals for new work

  • Supporting financials & future growth opportunities

  • Managing project(s) with up to $15M contract value and $5M annual gross revenue in support of U.S. Government Agency Programs

  • Planning, directing and supervising all operations included in moderately-sized projects with moderate risk, complexity and financial impact

  • Managing and leads all technical, financial and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools

  • May include managing small teams across business lines, in remote locations and/or management of subcontractors

  • Acting as primary point of contact with client and has full responsibility for project delivery

  • Travel may be required for durations of up to one week to locations worldwide.

  • Manages one or more moderately complex project, involving a combination of the following:

  1. Clients with a regional geographic footprint;

  2. Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices;

  3. Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.

  • May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).

  • Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.

  • Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.

  • May supervise: senior level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA in Engineering or Architecture. (For Engineers: Degrees in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical or Construction Engineering required) + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain US government security clearance.

  • Registration as registered architect (AIA) or licensed engineer (PE).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. (8+ years engineering or architectural work experience with 3 years specific project manager experience).

  • Demonstrated experience with radar projects.

  • Experience managing projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers with knowledge of UFC Standards, ProjNet, Scheduling and cost engineering.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Earned Value Certification or equivalent.

  • Strong ability to effectively and pro-actively interface with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in building and leading teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team/collaborative environment.

  • Knowledgeable in work with standard project management tools including schedule, earned value, and risk.
