SAIC is seeking a highly motivated individual with a solid understanding of networking, WAN/LAN technologies, and communication protocols. The individual must be able to leverage their own knowledge and expertise, as well as that of their team members, to design, implement, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all enterprise network problems relating to network services and traffic controls. Additional job duties will be acting as a designated interface for customer engagement and providing technical leadership. This individual will be experienced in managing customer relationships and expectations by translating customer needs to deliver appropriate technical solutions. On any given day, you may be called on to:
•Monitor network environment
•Troubleshoot issues
•Remove and replace hardware
•Design or contribute to enterprise network architecture planning
•Develop strategic plans for enterprise infrastructure



•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management of Information Systems, or relevant discipline and 5 years or more experience OR 9 years or more of related experience in lieu of degree; or Master's degree in relevant discipline plus 3 or more years’ experience.
•Hands-on experience designing, documenting, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructures
•Working knowledge of packet analyzers (Wireshark/TCPdump, etc.)
•A minimum of 2years’ experience supporting switching, routing and VPN technologies
•Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into design criteria
•A minimum of 2 years of enterprise networking experience in the following:
◦Campus Networking
◦Remote/Branch Networking
◦Security control design and implementation
•Ability to interpret new business requirements and propose suitable architecture changes
•Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOEQ-Clearance
•Experience with network communication protocols, such as TCP/IP, HTTPS, IPSec, SNMP, and other related protocols
•Hands on experience with LAN/WAN equipment, such as routers, switches, load balancers and protocol analyzers

Desired Skills:
•Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate, design integrations, and operate leading technology equipment
•Demonstrated proficiency with Ansible for network automation
•Demonstrated experience working with firewall and networking technologies in an unclassified and a classified environment
•Demonstrated ability to work well with department team members, management, and both internal and external customers, to identify and resolve network-centricissues
•Demonstrated ability to mentor internal and external staff as needed
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Knowledgeable of network virtualization and SDN
•Deep knowledge of network equipment (Cisco, Arista,Tellabs, Extreme, Juniper, Pulse Secure etc.)
•Familiarity with software tools development (Python,Git)
•Ability to travel and represent SNL during vendor Executive and Technical Briefing conferences
•Ability to work beyond normal business hours when needed
•An active DOE Q, L, TS or Secret level security clearance
