SAIC is seeking an Infrastructure Specialist to work in Manama, Bahrain. The Infrastructure Specialist will support the JEXC2 Program Operations & Maintenance Support (JPOMS) Mission Support Center program, based out of Panama City at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. The MSC is an agile team providing live 24/7-365 support to the Warfighter using US Navy Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) systems. These C2 systems are composed of software applications, databases, and hardware products and processes from multiple defense services and other government agencies. They interface with U.S. National, Allied, Coalition (multinational), and Joint organizations, and employ a spiral development process to take advantage of technology upgrades and evolving non-developmental military and commercially available equipment.
The qualified candidate will be a part of a small, agile team that provides on-site subject matter expert support to include system administration, network administration, communication, and infrastructure support directly to the Warfighter. Embedded personnel are considered mission essential and deployable on any Regional Combat Command (RCC) exercises or operations that require the use of C2 Family of Systems. The Team provides on-site technical support at the garrison and deployed locations where the C2 system is fielded. Teams located at these sites shall support not only those specific geographical locations, but also all C2 FoS deployment sites within the RCC’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) as needed.
Common tasks include: processing RMAs for IT support equipment, moving equipment, unboxing and inventory of IT infrastructure assets, light assembly of IT support equipment, racking of IT support equipment, and maintaining cleanliness of work center. The candidate should possess the ability to use hand tools, hydraulic and or electronic lifts to complete tasks. Infrastructure support equipment includes generator, HVAC, power infrastructure, tent assemblies and portable military grade hard shelters.
Operation and Maintenance support is 5 days a week for each fielded system. Work hours in excess of 40 hours per week per person may be required during contingency operations (deployments or exercises), an alternate work schedule may be required to support 24/7 operations. Typical core operating hours at each location is 0800 to 1700.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's and zero years of experience; Or, Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; Or, High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.
Experience with Joint Warfighter C4ISR, to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in Joint Warfighter C4ISR systems.
Proficient in instruction on the installation, operation and employment of HVAC and Power Production/ Generator Systems.
Certified Generator/HVAC Technician.
A US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. An active Secret security clearance is required to be considered for this opening.
