Environmental Planner / Scientist

KBR have recently been awarded several significant projects in Sydney and we are expanding our teams. We are looking for an experienced Environmental Planner / Scientist to support this work with a particular focus on large water projects based out of Western Sydney. These long term secure packages of work over many years are an exciting opportunity to work alongside a diverse team of the very best industry specialists.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Provide consulting services and support on environmental management, science and engineering
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects across NSW
  • Establish, develop and monitor environmental management systems
  • Obtain approvals, clearances, licences, permits, risk assessments and investigations including environmental impact assessments
  • Provide project environmental management advice and oversight in relation to legislation, contaminated land, vegetation, surface water, groundwater as well as noise and air quality
  • On-site environmental audits and inspections for industrial and construction projects
  • Maintain and develop relationships with clients, colleagues, government agencies and private stakeholders
  • Support business development activities by contributing to sales strategies and preparing major proposals

Qualifications & Key Skills:

  • Graduate or post graduate qualifications in environmental management, planning, science, or environmental engineering
  • 5-10 years experience in a similar role with an understanding of industrial and construction environments
  • Experience managing projects and working with large multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge and experience identifying and managing environmental risk, aspects and impact
  • Competence and experience in the practice of statutory or strategic planning, providing planning analysis, input, advice and expertise on studies and engineering projects
  • Experience preparing environmental management plans, strategies, approvals and permits
  • Experience evaluating and reporting environmental management impacts
