Associate Technical Professional – Test

KBR is looking for a Scientist/Engineer to join its team located in Dayton, Ohio. The individual will work in a team of electrical engineers, material scientists, physicists, mechanical and software engineers to support KBR’s fully automated Eddy Current Inspection Station (ECIS). The ECIS is the premier inspection system of the United States Air Force with over thirty systems utilized at the engine overhaul depot at Tinker AFB with others located in Dayton and at allied countries worldwide. The ECIS is a mission critical system designed to detect defects on fracture critical components in gas turbine engines on the F-15, F-16, F-22, and F-35 fighter aircraft thereby extending the their life saving the United States extensive maintenance costs.

Job assignments will include supporting the development of fully automated nondestructive inspections on KBR’s ECIS. Opportunities for coding, data collection, data analysis, signal processing design and data visualization.

This position provides an opportunity for continuous challenges in problem solving to achieve the design requirements of high performance engine inspection. Throughout its thirty-year lifecycle, the ECIS has undergone numerous expansions and upgrades with current engine inspection requirements requiring new development practices and techniques.

Required Skills and Experience

  • BS in Physics, Engineering, Material Science or related field
  • Clearance Requirement: US Citizen
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Programing experience (C++, C#, Java, or other language)
  • Familiarity with engineering drafting software such as AutoCad or Unigraphics


  • MS in Physics, Engineering, Material Science or related field
  • MATLAB experience a plus
