We are seeking a motivated and customer oriented Remote Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our team working from home to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC.
Potential remote/Virtual work (on site work required on a "needs" basis).
The candidate will work within a US government contract to support a Cloud based SaaS Acquisition Management System that is on the forefront of modern Agile best practices.
As the RTE, you will inspire and empower collaborative teams to deliver quality, innovative, and highly scalable web-based applications to end clients. RTEs will facilitate the ART events, coordinate, and communicate product roadmap with the stakeholders, escalate and help resolve impediments/risks, and ensure value delivery through continuous improvement. Our RTE will also coach teams to ensure agreed Agile processes are being followed, and support teams to be self-organizing, and self-managing.
The RTE is a critical member of the core delivery team empowered to help build high performing teams, build shippable product and be responsible for leading Agile transformation. The ideal RTE will have prior experience working with teams in developing Product roadmap, streamlining the Product backlog, and managing the releases in addition to coaching teams and other Scrum Masters on Agile best practices, processes, and tools. This role will champion improvement of adoption and continued improvement of agile, software engineering, and DevOps practices.
Requirements: 1. Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules, and practices and able to coach the team and organization in Agile/Scrum practices. 2. Foster an environment of open communication among the team to raise issues and impediments often and early to improve transparency. 3. Coordinate and oversees the work of all Release Train Engineer contractors. 4. Ensure the project vision through creating product roadmap and demonstrate the same through Product backlog, Sprint backlogs and Release backlog. 5. Facilitate Scrum of Scrum meetings, team demos, Increment Planning events, Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings, and other periodic synchronization meetings 6. Drive requirements clarification via standard techniques such as lean driven task/workflow analysis to identify epics and breakdown epics into stories with acceptance test criteria to be used to plan and execute iterations. 7. Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Essential Level and the value stream sync for Solution Trains 8. Summarize Team Increment objectives into high level Increment objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency 9. Work with management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment 10. Support track standard Agile Metrics (burn downs, feature tracking, velocity, etc.) are continuously kept up to date using the Atlassian ToolSuite; JIRA and Confluence. 11. Supporting and educating the Product Owner, working to keep the key stakeholders engaged in the development process. 12. Responsible for the preparation of contract deliverables as directed by the PM. Nice to Have: · Expertise in managing Jira/Confluence collaboration tools. · Familiarity with other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc. · Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay careful attention to detail. · Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: building Product Roadmaps, User Stories, Continuous Integration/Testing, Pairing, and Releases. · Understanding of Government Acquisition and Contracting process and procedures. · SAFe certified and engaged in several Agile programs based on SAFe. · Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor team members in Agile methodologies.
Qualifications: · Must be a U.S. Citizen (or GC with 3 years of continuous stay in US) and eligible to get Government Clearance. · Minimum 3 years of RTE experience in Scrum principles, practices, and theory. · Requires BS degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 years of prior relevant experience; or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree · Leadership skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency · Strong verbal/written communication skills and facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups. · At least one Agile Certification: CSM, SAFe Agile, PMI-ACP
