AECOM Benelux

The AECOM team in the Benelux consists of approximately 150 employees, operating from our main offices in The Hague, Leuven and Ghent as well as multiple site hubs throughout the region. Representative services include Engineering and Construction Services, Environment and Health & Safety.

For our Financial department in The Hague we are currently hiring a Senior Accountant to provide support on ensuring accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions. This includes responsibility for monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, analytical review and research into fluctuations, and participation in the month-end close process.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Preparation statutory accounts and supporting documentation, liaison external statutory auditors

  • Supervision and review statutory administration

  • Preparation CIT return and supporting documentation, liasion tax specialists

  • Preparation (quarterly/monthly) VAT return and supporting documentation

  • Preparation CBS (Dutch national bureau of statistics) reporting (3 reports)

  • Preparation equity adjustment schedule (Oracle - Statutory) and related deferred tax JEs

  • Monthly close analysis SG&A cost and related accrual accounting JEs

  • Prepare monthly payroll JEs

  • Review draft monthly payroll slips and payroll tax returns

  • Raw rates monthly checks

  • Fringe accounting and analysis large variances fringe % components

  • Supervision (annual, sickness, special) leave administration

  • Preparation (payroll, VAT) and review balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Reconcilation turnover and WIP accounts with project reports

  • Support monthly OCF forecast and provide forecast on taxes, payroll, allocations, sundries

  • Preparation/support various reports (a.o. quarterly variance) & completion trackers (to CE Finance)

  • Supervision deliverables GBS/SSC (R2R, P2P, O2C) and provide coaching/feedback

  • Operational lease accounting - review/supervision of JEs / deliverables

  • Supervision fixed assets register and review reconciliation with physical assets

  • Liaison internal audit (reviews)

  • Review individual tranasactions/complex issues, support Area manager & supervision team

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting

  • Working knowledge of GAAP

  • 10 years of accounting experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective planning, organizational and project management skills

  • Experience with the Oracle accounting system is desired

  • Fluency in Dutch and English is a must-have
