AECOM is currently seeking an Industrial Hygienist / Asbestos Inspector for our Clifton, NJ office. The individual will be responsible for conducting pre-demolition building surveys. Responsibilities shall include but may not be limited to the following:
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.
May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.
Field sampling and chain-of-custody preparation
Generation of project daily logs and supporting documentation
Coordination with regulatory agencies, review of project specifications and drawings, data tabulation, and report preparation
BA/BS or AA/AS + 2 Years of relevant experience or HS/GED + 4 Years of relevant experience
Valid State Driver’s License
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and background check
Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required
Working knowledge of federal and state asbestos regulations
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Asbestos consulting experience
Asbestos inspector and project monitor licensures desirable
