Senior Water Resources Engineer - Military veterans preferred

Job Summary

AECOM has an immediate need for a Senior Water Resources Engineer in our Atlanta office. This is a part-time position. The ideal candidate will help manage and lead technical tasks, develop scope/fee and assist in business development/proposal preparation, and mentor young engineers for the following types of projects:

  • Hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and civil design for water resource assessment and transportation projects

  • Water supply planning, permitting, and modeling, streamflow analysis, reservoir safe yield analysis, river basin modeling

  • Dam inspection and assessment, dam break analysis, Category I dam permitting, development of Emergency Action Plan and O&M plans

  • Floodplain mapping and assessment

  • Bridge and culvert hydraulics and design, run-off quantity and quality estimation, open channel and closed conduit flow, one and two-dimensional flow analysis, surface and groundwater flow, and dam design and operation.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 8 Years of related experience

  • Expertise with computer models such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and SWMM

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15-20 years of related experience is highly preferred

  • MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering is a plus

  • Georgia Professional Engineer

  • Experienced in the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) databases for water resource systems planning and design

  • Certified Engineer of Record for Civil and Hydrologic & Hydraulic Design for Georgia Safe Dams Program, Department of Natural Resources

  • Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission - Level II

  • Certified Design Professional in Erosion & Sediment Control
