Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a talented Traffic Engineer to join the transportation business line in Arlington, Virginia.

The position will be involved with traffic engineering projects providing professional engineer services to AECOM clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the engineering, planning, and simulation efforts for all areas of traffic and transportation projects

  • Collaborate with other engineers, planners, and modelers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation analyses or design issues

  • Assist in the engineering and planning effort for traffic signal design, traffic operations, and safety projects including following the agency's plan development process

  • Guide junior engineers and provide QA/QC for projects in various areas of traffic and transportation engineering, analysis, and simulation

  • Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub consultants in the various assignments

  • Understand trends, best practices, and innovation in the transportation industry and explore opportunities of implementing them on projects

  • Provide assistance in business development activities in providing responses to RFP, RFQ, and SOQ including technical writing, and scope and fee development

Minimum Requirements

  • BS Civil Engineering

  • 4 plus years or related engineering experience

  • Experience in traffic engineering

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: VISSIM, Synchro, HCS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering License

  • MS in Civil Engineering
