Field Support Manager

Position Overview

The Field Support Manager oversees technical teams engaged in diverse and remote field engineering activities such as troubleshooting, installations, maintenance/repairs, and testing. This person oversees the resolution of technical issues focused on achieving customer requirements associated with operations and technical support services. They are responsible for assigning, scheduling, and managing support teams at multiple locations to optimize team effectiveness. They act as the program contact in the field with customer and other contractor personnel.

This position will be located in Milton, FL


  • Minimum 10 years technical field service experience with 3 years management/ supervisory responsibilities; experience in a government environment preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or Related Field. In lieu of formal education, 12 years of directly related experience.
  • Six Sigma certification desired


  • Manages/Coordinates on-call technical responses for field engineering support
  • Establishes field support plans; schedules resources, materials, and facilities to meet contract requirements
  • Reviews on-going and planned field support activities to determine resource requirements and availability for manning and equipment
  • Prepares special reports and presentations pertinent field support activities
  • Monitors technical performance, troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions, and takes appropriate and timely action to correct deficiencies
  • Ensures accurate and timely deficiency processing actions and tracking from initial assignment to closure
  • Provides support to other engineering activities in the development and completion of tasks to increase production, quality, efficiency or volume
  • Provide status to management on field support activity and supports senior level meetings and reviews
  • Ensuring safety, quality, workforce performance
  • Conducts evaluations and training of field support team personnel
  • Participates in responding to Requests for Proposals, as required


  • Strong engineering and technical background with demonstrated knowledge of radar and telemetry systems
  • Experience managing diverse and remote technical teams
  • Working knowledge of commercial and military specifications and standards
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, run-lists, and schematics
  • Exhibits sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing and coordinating with customer and internal team
  • Demonstrates the ability to build strong customer and team relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse customers and teams
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment and assume multiple responsibilities
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Maximo or similar equipment maintenance system
  • Willing to travel extensively CONUS/OCONUS

Must be a US Citizen and hold an active Secret clearance; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
