HKN Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Chief of Naval Air Training Command (CNATRA) product team is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our KBR Team in our Orlando, Florida location. The incumbent will perform Systems Engineering, Test and Evaluation, CONUS only, to conduct market research, assist in new and existing acquisition process, perform analysis, testing and acceptance of new upgrades or new training devices, and perform other Systems Engineering Integration and Testing duties as assigned.

Performs a variety of operational, analytical, planning, and related tasks with duties concentrated in the areas of constructive and virtual training simulations support for war games, combat, combat support, and combat service support training events for the U.S. Military. Plans, develops, and executes simulation training activities to include scheduling, development of databases, exercise scenarios, workstation player/controller interaction, exercise execution, and participation in After Action Reviews.

Analyzes performance during computer simulation exercises and prepares exercise scenarios to support exercises. Requires in-depth knowledge and experience. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve Group’s products or services. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.

Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related discipline. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Has in-depth knowledge of DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards and engineering requirements.


Bachelor Degree in engineering or computer science field from an ABET accredit university is preferred. Master Degree is a plus. 5 or more years in engineering experience is required.

Aviation experience is a plus.

Must be able to obtain/maintain the required DOD security clearance/CAC access.

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience in a Systems Engineering, Test and Evaluation role.

Experience supporting new and existing acquisition process.

Performing analysis, testing and acceptance of new upgrades or new training devices.
