Configuration Management Analyst-Journeyman

This position provides engineering Data Analysis and CDRL management support services for program management, acquisition, engineering, integration and sustainment planning to the F/A-18 E/F and the F-18 EA-G Program in Lexington Park, MD. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Performs data analyses and CDRL control/tracking in support of program management, acquisition, and engineering. As a result, provides detailed management products to include data analysis reports with graphs, bar charts etc. to illustrate results and recommendations, and control/tracking reports for all active CDRLS, products are used to support the F/A-18E/F/G Air Vehicle program decisions. Position duties also include but are not limited to: assist in acquisition planning and implementation, contracting action monitoring and reporting to support aircraft sustainment/acquisition efforts. Performs directed, recommends and initiates data collection analyses, technical analyses, and course of action recommendation development briefs/point papers to government customer. Develops and coordinates a wide range of program related data analysis and CDRL tracking products, acquisition documentation, engineering change proposal review and assessment, CDRL development validation, review of SOW and proposed CDRLS, and develops decision briefings from created analysis products for the government customer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

General knowledge of NAVAIR policies, procedures, terminology and requirements is preferred. Familiarity with SECNAV, OPNAV and OSD policy and procedures related to PPBS, Contract Data Requirements List, and DD254 is preferred. Knowledge of program/project status and action item tracking, and Integrated Program Management (i.e. earned value management) is preferred. Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft suite is required. Ability to obtain and hold active SECRET clearance is required.

Required Education:

BA/BS degree


An Associate’s degree plus two (2) years additional work experience; OR four (4) years additional work experience may be substituted for a BA or BS.

Required Experience: 3 to 10 years of combined experience performing duties described in the functional description.

Functional Description: Collects, organizes and interprets data relating to aircraft and product programs. Maintains configuration control of acquisition products and data. Tracks configuration changes. Coordinates and supports development of Engineering Change Proposals. Applies government-instituted processes for documentation, change control management and data management.
