AECOM is now hiring a Bridge Design Engineer to be involved with several key design-build and Public Private Partnership projects in Chicago area, Illinois and Central U.S.
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
BA/BS + 2 YORE or AA/AS (US) + 4 YORE or HS/GED + 6 YORE
SE license, or ability to obtain the same in next 2 years
PE license in state of IL or ability to obtain via reciprocity
Master’s degree in civil (structural) engineering
Railroad engineering experience is preferred
Successful completion of at least three bridge design projects, including EOR responsibilities, including at least one curved bridge
Ability to communicate clearly, organize correspondence, and document decisions made
Need to be able to perform work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of self-motivation and resourcefulness
Demonstrated ability to develop technical reports, documents, client communication and technical memoranda
