Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking an Equipment Operator to join our CNRL Albian project team for the 2020 Summer Turnaround Season.

This is a temporary role , supporting the site operations on various tasks relating to the turnaround of the Albian Plant. Rotation will be 6 days on, 1 day off unless otherwise specified.

  • Approximate duration: 4-6 weeks

  • Location: Fort McMurray Area

  • Travel: Charter flights provided from Calgary and Edmonton , and bus from Fort McMurray

  • Accommodation: Camp accommodation will be provided to all workers

  • Shift : Day Shift and Night Shift available

  • Overtime Eligibility: All craft will be eligible for overtime

  • CLAC Union agreement in place; with competitive rates

Equipment Operators perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation of light, medium and heavy equipment and trucks. Equipment Operators are responsible for understanding and following all operating policy and procedures while operating equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Receives written and oral instructions from supervisor regarding materials to move or excavate.

  • Demonstrates safe operation of all equipment.

  • Reads and understands the results and purpose of all gauges and equipment.

  • Properly maintains and services or has equipment serviced daily.

  • Performs minor maintenance or clearing of tools and equipment.

Conditions of Employment for this position are:

  1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

  2. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2 or more years of related experience.

  • CSTS-09 or 2020 (Construction Safety Training Systems) or PST (Petroleum Safety Training).

  • A valid Class 1 or Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CSE (Confined Space Entry).

  • Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection (OSSA issued ticket is the general requirement).

  • AWP (Ariel Work Platform).
