SAIC is seeking experienced personnel for a contingent position with the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Operations Support Directorate (OSD) program to provide administrative, programmatic, training and exercise, medical operations, and information coordination services to in order to enhance the nation’s abilities to prevent terrorists and other threat actors from using weapons of mass destruction and support operational partners in closing capability gaps along adversary pathways.
Responsibilities: Performs the functions of a technical expert in the relevant scientific field in support of quality assurance for major programs or system development. Supports the Quality Assurance Specialist 2 in application of scientific expertise in defining and resolving system issues, performing analysis, and developing plans and requirements in the subject-matter area for complex systems. Supports planning activities, and root cause outcomes. Coordinates and manages the preparation of analysis, evaluations, and recommendations for proper implementation of programs and systems.
At SAIC the Quality Assurance Principal:
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for development acceptance criteria (parameters based on product result). May undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action. Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology,Molecular Biology or related field.
• Must have 7 years of experience (Masters) or 12 years of experience (Bachelors) in laboratory based science generating analytical results from testing of clinical or environmental samples as well as active participation in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
• Must have at minimum, an active Secret clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Travel may be required.
• Prior DHS contractor fitness (suitability) authorization determination.
• Prior DHS experience including any DHS components or HQ Directorates, especially DHS CWMD.
