ManTech is currently seeking an RF/Wireless Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will provide support in developing long-term strategic initiatives for our customer organization to meet present and future mission needs. The scope of strategic initiatives may include the coordination of design, development, analysis, and deployment of innovative equipment, projects, cutting edge technologies, or operations for the use of complex special communications capabilities or solutions.

The RF Subject Matter Expert will function as an experienced technical specialist, and must have ability to independently develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. On occasion, may supervise engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity; and will serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing knowledge and expertise accordingly.

The RF Subject Matter Expert will support multiple mission support activities, to include identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer, and stakeholder needs; and translating them into technical or operational requirements to support research, development, production, and/or procurement of processes, systems, and/or services in support of mission and customer.

Specific Technical Requirements:

·        Advanced knowledge of RF planning process and use of propagation tools in point-to-point, point-to-multipoint design of radio systems

·        Ability to perform and coordinate all stages of RF design, including: optimal site selection, link budget analysis, RF sweep evaluation, coverage and performance (feature/functions) test development

·        Familiarity with military and civilian LMR systems, especially in VHF/UHF (DoD and/or State and Local Public Safety), and other DoD wireless technologies such as Radio over IP (RoIP)

·        Technical Experience in the following: requirements gathering, link budgets, network evaluation, path feasibility evaluation, development of high-level design drawings in Visio or similar tool, review/interpretation of equipment specification, test and evaluation.

·        Ability to specify mission-applicable support equipment and to identify appropriate frequency bands to support the same

·        Ability to create applied engineering design/drawing/schematic products (and ability to decipher/analyze/implement the same)

·        Proven Analysis & Communication (oral and written) Skills, and ability to lead project meetings and make presentations (as required by mission and customer)

·        Must routinely interact with clients to identify needs and requirements

·        Research existing client conditions and make recommendations to enhance large, complex telecommunication networks, owned and operated by public safety agencies.
Presenting complex technical data to audiences with non-technical backgrounds

·        Maintain records, lists, and reports as required; to ensure compliance with the client's schedule, accuracy of budget, and adherence to procurement specifications

·        Keep informed of new communication methods and developments that affect the industry, and recommend new practices or changes in programs or applications

·        Evaluate hardware and software and peripheral equipment for simple networks, &
manage network performance – to include troubleshooting and resolving problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.

·        Ability to adapt quickly to changing environment & react quickly to task & project set up and follow-through when required

Qualifications Required:

·        Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance in rapid manner – in place clearance preferred

·        Bachelor(s) Degree (Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems) or equivalent, and six years of related experience. OR HS Degree and 10+ years of experience

·         

Qualifications Strongly Desired:

·        10+ years of directly applied experience

·        BS in Engineering Field

·        DoD Electronics Experience

·        Visio Proficiency

·        Deep understanding of P25 Standard and Vendors

·        Experience with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio

·        Advanced knowledge of RF planning process and use of propagation tools in point-to-point, point-to-multipoint design of highly reliable radio projects

·        Ability to perform and coordinate all stages of RF design, including: optimal site selection, link budget analysis, and RF sweep evaluation

·        Familiarity with multiple wireless system architectures, to include wireless LANs, SATCOM and commercial cellular products and systems

·        Technical Experience in the following: requirements gathering, link budgets, network evaluation, path feasibility evaluation, development of high-level design drawings in Visio or similar tool, specification of equipment.

 

Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science or Management Information Systems) or equivalent, and two to four years of related (data center environment) experience. OR HS Degree and 10+ years of experience


DoD secret clearance
Experience with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio

Preferred experience with VIZIO or a similar program and design experience with AT&T and/or Verizon
