Job Responsibilities:
Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a Network Engineer (Virtualization) to join our team based in Tampa, FL.

This essential role will:

Be part of an engineering team building DOD systems using advanced NSX/ESXi networking functionalities such as virtual or distributed switches, network emulation devices, network overlay technologies, and NIC offload capabilities
Have SDN Networking experiences in a VMware or other platforms
Support complex and diverse network platforms/topologies within the engineering team
Will be responsible for the design, integration, operation, and management of complex enterprise networks, linking a variety of platforms, operating systems, network topologies, and network protocols.
Have strong network skills, including development, deployment, and support of Networks, switches, routers, and appliances.
Develop and implements changes related to network architecture, evaluation of hardware and software products, and problem resolution.
Engineer and lead enterprise data, voice and video networks
Collaborate with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization and ongoing management
Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers
Lead technical teams that are integrating new technology into the existing operational environment
Establish and document baselines to measure network performance and capability across a global enterprise
Advise senior government staff on industry best practices and provide policy recommendations to implement those practices
Work in a dynamic/agile development environment and be adaptable to changing requirements
Be resourceful, curious, and driven. Push the envelope in adopting new technologies, best design practices to ensure DOD has the best possible systems. Outside the box thinking.
Continuously review the product and code for optimizations and performance improvements
Ensure the product/feature works end to end with reliable quality and performance, as well as proper documentation
Work in a collaborated environment to achieve original and anticipated features and functionality of programs to be developed
Follow life-cycle oriented processes and procedures
History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting a deadline
Create and execute test plans to meet project requirements for assigned components.
Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires a minimum of Fifteen (15) years of direct experience in the last 20 years.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting DoD Coalition network infrastructure and service deployments
Current DoD 8570 IAT II certification
Technical Certification in networking
Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

Due to the nature of the work and US Government required, US Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications:
Advanced Networking Certification, such as CCIE
SDN Networking Expereince
VMware NSX Experience
Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Engineering, Math). With at least 18 years of general experience of which 15 years is directly related experience, an advanced degree is not required.
