Logistics Specialist II

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide program management support to the Naval Air Systems Command F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA265) life cycle phases of the multiple F/A-18 variants, including the F/A-18A-D, F/A-18E/F and EA-18G. Provide assistance in support of the program management of hardware/software suppliers and field activities. Maintain, monitor, and update F/A-18 and EA-18G management procedures. This includes monitoring cost/schedule/performance indicators, risk management, critical path networks, parts obsolescence assessment/recommendations, and production Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). Update and monitor project “cradle-to-grave” schedules and coordinate/analyze, field activity reports and analyses. Attend and provide technical management support in preparation, coordination, undertaking, and post evaluations of all program management meetings, conferences, and technical reviews.

Specific duties include; Coordinate with TYCOMs, Functional Wings, MALS, Depot Planners to continuously revise aircraft induction and Modification (MOD) incorporation schedules for MOD plans. Provide updated information for the DEPOT / Contractor (50/50) Workload Budget out year MOD install estimates in support of PMA265. Participate in weekly teleconferences on modification requirements planning with PMA265 MOD team, Fleet Readiness Centers and F/A-18 TYCOMs. Track execution of MOD install plans based on weekly depot/contractor status reports. Review for LEM newly issued Technical Directives (TD’s) and continually work TD’s for processing and kit availability. Plan and schedule Validation and Verifications of newly issued TD’s while updating MOD plans and issuing kits to assigned activity. Release Kits for FA-18 A-F & EA18-G mod installs. Plan and analyze out-quarters and out-years planned MOD installs requirements and current mod install schedule for newly released TD’s. Attend meetings in continued support of commercial aircraft sites MOD plans for current and future Fiscal Years (FY). Participate in Air Vehicle status monthly meeting (TELCON) for TDs.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate familiarity with advanced functions in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures is preferred. Knowledge and experience with the USN aircraft maintenance concepts is preferred. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects.

An active secret level security clearance is required for employment.

Required Education & Experience:

A MS or MA degree in a Business related field is required and at least 5-12 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Allowable Substitution: a BS or BA degree in any field and an additional three (3) years can be substituted for a MS or MA degree. An additional five (5) years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
