SAIC is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer, who will support coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies throughout the customer's web presence on all domains.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY: Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. 

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance. 

FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. 

IMPACT: Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization. 

LIAISON: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of experience maintaining the operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are followed
  • 5 years of experience assisting with the management of security aspects of the information system and performing day-to-day security operations of the system.

  • 5 years of experience providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware; manage changes to system and assess the security impact of those changes; prepare and review documentation.

  • 5 years of experience evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information; performing vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.

  • Master's degree
  • 2 years of experience as an ISSO/ISSR within Intelligence Community.
  • 7 year of IT security experience that demonstrates broad knowledge and experience in multiple security disciplines (e.g., Information, Industrial, Information Systems, and Classifiction Management).
