SAIC is seeking a Remote Automation Test Engineer to join our Human Resources Cloud Computing Environment (HRC2E) team at the U.S. Army Human Resources Command, while working from home. The Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for testing and evaluating software applications and systems that are migrating to a cloud service provider to ensure quality.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a library of test scripts using the Selenium test automation framework.
  • Work closely with business systems analysts to understand software requirements.
  • Participate in requirements review activities.
  • Develop test scenarios.
  • Record and document results and compare to expected results.
  • Detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
  • Prepare test reports.
  • Generate historical analysis of test results.
  • Work closely with software engineers to make recommendations for code “hooks”.
  • Examine code and execution of code in various environments.
  • Verify specific action or function of code.
  • Develop and document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
  • Participate in application planning meetings.
  • Perform reviews, walk-throughs, or inspections.



Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2+ years of related experience. Four years of additional related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience with Selenium test automation framework.
  • Experience configuring automation testing in a CI/CD Pipeline such as Jenkins or TFS.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with different functional and operational team technical representatives.
  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated technical writing capabilities.
  • US Citizen – No dual citizenship.
  • Possess a SECRET clearance or have the ability to obtain one. Must have at least an interim SECRET to begin work on the contract.
  • Must be CompTIA Security+ certified prior to start date.

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with US Army Human Resources or Accessions systems. 
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience writing test cases.
  • Experience and proficiency using Borland Caliber.
  • Software Tester Certification.
