Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with customer support as a Desktop Windows System Administrator. This role provides IT support of equipment integration services for several Engineering groups in a fast paced, fast response environment, with a strong teaming and product delivery mindset. The individual will primarily work with desktop support but should be able to perform basic server work when needed. The individual who fills this role will need experience with:

  • Familiarity with a variety of IT technology’s

  • Understanding of cyber policies and directives

  • Implementing security controls on computing equipment

  • Windows 10 desktop support 

  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server 2016


Qualifications

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline plus 2 years or more experience
  • 5 or more years Windows desktop support including system setup; application installation; troubleshooting; account management and general IT systems maintenance and operations
  • Windows server experience providing updates and patching in virtual environment
  • Scheduling performance of server maintenance actions during non-duty hours
  • Willingness to provide hands on deskside assistance as well as back office server support 
  • Strong customer service abilities along with excellent verbal, written and documentation skills
  • Must have and be able to maintain a DOE Q level security clearance or a DOD T/S with DOE reciprocity approval prior to start

Desired Skills:

  • Experience maintaining Active Directory topology and configuring Group Policy Object management 
  • Experience VMware vSphere
  • Experience with installing a wide variety of applications
  • Familiarization with databases and database services
  • Familiarization with networking principles
  • Restore data and re-configure systems when required
  • Detect, identify and troubleshoot system software and hardware problems
