Title:

Technical Professional Leader- IT Information Assurance

The IT Information Assurance Leader will be Involved in the performance of assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. The candidate may achieve this through passive evaluations (compliance audits) and/or active evaluations (vulnerability assessments). Involved in the establishment of strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.

This may include process support, analysis support, coordination support, security certification test support, security documentation support, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits. Assists in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6/3), and may make recommendations on process tailoring. Involved in the performance of analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommends additional security requirements and safeguards. May support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports. Other job duties may include:

  • Involved in the periodic conduct of a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed Recognized as an external (Industry) thought leader within a strategic family or discipline.
  • Influences the strategy for the Group to address internal or external business and regulatory/compliance issues. Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business for assigned Group.
  • May participate in the development of the product or business strategy for the Group. Guides multidisciplinary projects or initiatives. Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements.
  • Due to the complexity and uniqueness of the required skill set there are generally fewer incumbents at this level. Recognized as an individual with advanced expertise which may span multiple disciplines.
  • Individuals in this category are often viewed as experts within the Industry and/or may be viewed as a consultative authority in matters within the realm of their responsibility. Requires broad and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories, techniques and/or technologies within own job family and/or its related disciplines.

Influences internal/external customers and/or industry issues that have an impact on the business. Impacts Unit/Division/Group direction through the development of innovative services or products; works within customer requirements.
  • May oversee technology capital and operating budget, assess financial impact of proposed solutions and reallocate resources to optimize achievement of strategic objectives. May provide input into research and development activities and budget allocations. Collaborates with senior management, customers, governmental agencies, regulators or vendors to influence decisions. May have formal, but limited, supervision of team members at a Department level to include verification of time cards, oversight of daily tasks/schedules and input into performance appraisals. May have resource responsibility such as staffing levels and budgets. May be the primary customer contact for assigned area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In some disciplines, advanced degree may be a requirement to reach this level. Typically requires 15 or more years of relevant experience.
  • TS security clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or working towards CISSP certification
