Title:

Microelectronics Circuit Design Engineer

KBR is seeking to fill a digital system design engineer position in support of Trusted and Assured Microelectronics research program at the Air Force Research Laboratory. The selected candidate will be leading research efforts as described below.

  • Research the trends of digital system design involving ASICs, FPGAs, and Commercial-Off-The Shelf (COTS) components.
  • Analyze trends of design style, design complexity, and design performance that have been demonstrated in systems along with analysis of limitations such as the memory wall, power wall, input/output (I/O) bottleneck as well as the strategies, technologies, and architectures used to overcome them.
  • Assess mechanisms used for simulation and verification identifying potential bottlenecks and technical areas in which improvement would significantly reduce verification time and effort.
  • Provide analysis of emerging technologies that enable more rapid and lower cost digital system design from conception through to fabrication.
  • Analyze and assess the top producers of digital design technology, digital ASIC designs, and digital systems in the commercial space to report on trends, styles, management infrastructure, and processes that lead to best-in-class technology.

This position is located at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Sensor Directorate, Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant industry/academic experience in semiconductor design and fabrication, algorithm development, physical and functional implementation, reliability, and physics of failure.

  • QUALIFICATIONS: Required:• Minimum SECRET clearance eligibility (must be a US Citizen)• Minimum MS/PhD (preferred) degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field• Applicable research experience.
