Document Controller - Military veterans preferred

Job Summary

Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Nuclear Power & Decommissioning Team in Warrington, AECOM are looking to increase our technical workforce and are seeking to recruit a Document Controller.

The Document Controller role will cover the preparation, management and filing of project documentation for our projects. Responsibilities will include the updating of project registers, filing structures, archiving files and ensuring all team members have access to necessary documentation.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience reviewing technical documents, together with the ability to spot errors and effectively communicate to project team members and management. Ultimately, you’ll support our procedures maintaining transparent, up-to-date and easily traceable document records.

Job Responsibilities:

The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:

• Copy, scan and store physical documents

• Check for accuracy and report any errors discovered to team members or project management. Quality Checking of documents

• Review and update documents (e.g. Project registers & filing structures & workflows)

• Distribute project-related copies to internal teams

• File documents in physical and digital records

• Archiving experience

• Create templates for future use

• Retrieve files as requested by employees and clients

• Manage the flow of documentation within the organization

• Manage commercially and technically sensitive information between organisations

• Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information and terms of agreement

• Prepare and update ad-hoc reports on projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Document Controller or similar role

• Familiarity with project management and managing multiple projects

• Hands-on experience with MS Office and MS Excel

• Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)

• Proficient typing and editing skills

• Data organization skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

The successful applicant will need to be security cleared to BPSS level prior to starting.

Preferred Qualifications

The Document Controller role requires a Higher National Diploma in a relevant subject for this area.
