KBR is currently seeking a skilled CNC/MANUAL Machinist to join our growing shop team. Our facility machines proto-type parts for our government customer along with making piece parts for certain contracts. Our goal is to provide specialized machining to enhance our customers vision for the warfighter. Our machine shop typically operates on a Mon-Fri (8a-5p) schedule with overtime as needed.

As part of the team some of the essential job functions will be:

  • Program and Operate HAAS VF-4SS TR210 Super-Speed Vertical Machining Center with Tilting 2-Axis Trunnion Rotary Table
  • Create CNC machine programs using the Gibbs Cam Software Tool.
  • Operate Manual Lathe.
  • Operate Manual Milling Machine.
  • Operate Vertical and Horizontal Cut-off saws.
  • Operate Grinders, sanders, drill press and other small tools and shop equipment.
  • Inspect components to verify they meet drawing requirements using provided inspection equipment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must have a Minimum of 5 years CNC mill setup and operation experience using Gibbs Cam.
  • Must be able to set-up and perform complex machining operations using manual machine shop equipment including but not limited to lathes, milling machines, saws, and drill press.

· Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.

· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Must be able to use calibrated inspection equipment when monitoring the quality of the parts.

· Must abide by all safety and health policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology desired.

Associates Degree with 4 years of experience OR 6 years of experience in lieu of degree.

Must have own tools.
