SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Systems Engineer to apply their expertise to mission analyses for operational and future SIGINT collection systems. The combined aspects of Electrical Engineering, Satellite Communications engineering and Physics make this a challenging role to support operational systems that are of the utmost importance to our Nation. Under the guidance of the Technical Director, the selected candidate will model and analyze the capabilities of SIGINT collection systems, perform technical analysis of the impacts related to potential changes to the baseline, and assist with the transition of new capabilities into operations. Almost daily interface with the Government Customer is required. Occasional short-term (3-5 days) travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing SETA expertise in support of real-time operations, analysis, operational studies and operational training as required.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting studies and analysis focusing on specific operational issues such as Mission assessment, optimization, operational tools and resource management

  • Participating in conceptual development, provide optimization and transition testing, CONOP development and training for new operational capabilities

  • Providing technical analysis, test planning and execution support for complex engineering field tests and studies 

  • Providing analysis of complex signal collection problems considering viability, performance and implementation

  • Interfacing with government and contractor points of contact in formal and informal settings

  • Functioning as an integral part of a highly regarded technical team which frequently makes direct and consequential impacts on critical government programs

  • Providing technical leadership

  • Preparing contract deliverables as directed


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.


Clearance required to start: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • STEM degree is dictated by the contract

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a concentration in Communications Systems Engineering and Digital Signal Processing, and relevant experience is preferred. Candidates with other related degrees will be considered.

  • Significant experience in the Intelligence and DoD Community and familiarity with ground systems operations

  • Advanced working knowledge of the SIGINT mission disciplines as well as an understanding of SIGINT collection platforms, RF link performance analysis and signal path analysis

  • Strong Python and STK skills are desirable

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and facilitation skills to effectively lead discussions across multiple groups

  • Excellent organizational, written and presentation skills

  • Relevant experience in flight operations and collection and operations, systems engineering, signals collection and signals analysis and/or Satellite Mission Ground Station experience is strongly desired

  • In-depth operational knowledge of customer-specific collection systems, equipment capabilities, limitations, and processing capabilities is highly desirable

  • Some US and overseas travel may be required, but not guaranteed
