AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Capture Manager to join our team. This position requires business development and capture experience in both full and open opportunities and task orders under multiple award contracts. The Capture Manager leads a team of proposal professionals and subject matter experts in the generation of winning proposal artifacts in support of single award contacts and task orders. The Capture Manager is instrumental in building a team-wide big-picture pursuit vision and coaching and driving the capture team to make that vision a reality. Qualified candidates are skillful communicators across functional areas, are decisive problem solvers across an array of pursuit issues, and exhibit the temperament to successfully resolve conflict. Communication and decision-making skills will be used to understand issues facing pursuit teams and distill them into innovative solutions to be applied across proposals. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, who poses insightful questions to guide the team to better refined win strategies. The successful candidate will have a penchant for driving teams to perfection, a critical eye for the written word, and a breadth of experience to coach teams using lessons learned.
Major areas of responsibility include:
Leading the capture team on the proposal process and provide one-on-one instruction on how to develop top-quality proposal artifacts
Develop a robust and sustainable pipeline to support business unit growth objectives
Conduct frequent in-process proposal reviews for responsiveness, compliance, argument coherence, and claim substantiation and coach authors with structured feedback to drive improvements
Drive the capture team at each step in the proposal development process to apply critical thinking in the development of customer most important requirements, strategies, themes, discriminators, and other proposal materials
Drive and ensure the necessary course corrections are implemented at the team and individual level to avoid re-work
Drive the development of best practices and lessons learned to continuously improve the pursuit and order capture processPrimary Responsibilities:
Plan team meetings: determines participants; collects or prepares briefing materials, monitors progress, and follows-up on action items and strategies on behalf of Contingency Ops Business Development Leadership.
Streamlines interactions between BD, Ops, and administrative staff members; drives initiatives on behalf of the Contingency Ops Business Development Leadership.
Documents and tracks the goals, targets, revenue and non-revenue objectives, and initiatives of the Ops Business Development Leadership, providing direction to and receiving input from all BD functional leads (business development managers, capture managers, proposal managers, and functional/technical managers).
Track and manage team pipeline, budget process, resource allocation, and team bid and proposal spend planning
Supports development of annual business development plan, informed by the Executive Leadership Team and Capture Managers in concert with the organizational strategy and business unit objectives.
Works to solve problems and deal with issues before they require interaction of Senior Executives
Advise senior leadership on team pulse, key business decisions, and organization-wide initiatives
Prepare and coordinate responses to corporate data requests and scheduled reporting requirements.
Support the Executive Leadership team activities (presentations, speeches, panels, working groups, etc.)
Develop strong internal partnerships with colleagues
Leads pursuit of teaming opportunities, and serves as leadfor select (to be identified) pipeline opportunities.
Responsible for supervision of development, approval, and dissemination of all team marketing materials.
Support key strategic projects as needed across a variety of topics and areas.
BA/BS with 12 years of relevant experience or AA/AS with 14 years of relevant experience
4 years of leadership experience
Extensive experience in DoD Business Development/Capture Management
Recent Capture Manager on Major/Mega Pursuits
Strong Understanding of the Marketplace
