Job Responsibilities:
Trace Systems is actively recruiting for an Automation Engineer (Applications) to join our team in Tampa, FL.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Understand, decompose and implement test plan, automation, and validation procedures based on stated product features and skillsets
Provide architecture and design level input to the agile team that integrates, orchestrate and facilitate ideas and maintain momentum across a diverse technical skillset
Help engineer solutions that are technically sound and within the constructs of the DOD environment
Be part of an engineering team building DOD systems using advanced NSX/ESXi networking functionalities such as virtual or distributed switches, network emulation devices, network overlay technologies, and NIC offload capabilities
Support complex and diverse network platforms/topologies within the engineering team
Will be responsible for the design, integration, operation, and management of complex enterprise networks, linking a variety of platforms, operating systems, network topologies, and network protocols.
Collaborate with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization and ongoing management
Lead technical teams that are integrating new technology into the existing operational environment
Advise senior government staff on industry best practices and provide policy recommendations to implement those practices
Work in a dynamic/agile development environment and be adaptable to changing requirements
Be resourceful, curious, and driven. Push the envelope in adopting new technologies, best design practices to ensure DOD has the best possible systems. Outside the box thinking.
Work in a collaborated environment to achieve original and anticipated features and functionality of programs to be developed
Follow life-cycle oriented processes and procedures
History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting a deadline
Experience with using infrastructure as code methodologies to implement application and operating system configuration management
Deep experience designing and executing automated, end-to-end integration tests in API-driven applications
Work with business stakeholders and dev leads to prepare appropriate testing approaches, test plans, and test cases
Analyze, discuss and clarify test requirements with government, product, and development team members
Standup and configuration of test environments/sandboxes
Hands-on development of tests and testing suites
Manage test environments and setup/maintain test datasets
Configure and maintain test management suites using TestRail or similar
Evaluate where and how to increase/improve automation test coverage
Structure and conduct user acceptance testing with business stakeholders
Take part in product enhancement, feature design and requirements discussions (i.e., represent the voice of the customer)
Work with Lead Architectinternal and external teams to scope features and prioritize roadmap
Work with the multiple technology teams to provide expertise in automation using configuration management tools such as Ansible.
Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows.
Knowledge of VMWare technologies such as vRO, vRA, vSphere, and ESX.
Public cloud experience with platforms such as AWS and Azure a plus.
Knowledge of source code management practices and general development methodologies.
Experience using Git and understanding branching and merging concepts.
Bitbucket experience a plus.
Automate deployments, maintenance, and common tasks where applicable.
Knowledge of coding the Ansible or vRO API to interface with external tools and services.
Maintain Ansible infrastructure. Perform upgrades and enhancements as needed.
Partners with various teams to ensure operating system configuration and application configuration are managed using Ansible/vRA or similar automation suite
Experience working within strict change management procedures in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
The ability to manage self and multi-task in an environment of changing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Resourcefulness, creativity, and troubleshooting skills a must
Act as an escalation point on critical issues for various internal technology groups
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires a minimum of twelve (12) years of direct experience in the last fifteen years designing, supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering Windows Enterprise Services (Servers, email (Exchange), instant messaging (Lync, Tactical Chat Server, OpenFire), Web Services (SharePoint)and other communication tools.
Solid experience with Microsoft applications in a VMware virtual environment
Strong experience in implementing and troubleshooting vCenter and Virtual Machines;
Strong experience in implementing and troubleshooting Virtual Networking configurations;
Strong experience in implementing Hypervisor and Virtual Machine Storage;
Solid experience with anti-spam, encryption and email tracking, TLS configurations, transport rules, and e-discovery.
Strong Experience managing a Windows environment, including but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
Strong experience with Public and Private Key services (Design and Implementation)
Experience developing Powershell scripts for administration/automation. Specifically for the automation of Day 1 â?? Day 3 Operations automation.
Serves as Storage Administrator in support of NetApp Storage Area Network. Lead implementation, design, development and maintenance of NetApp filers in a VMware datacenter.
Experience with VMware Operations Manager, Subject Matter Expert with either Active Directory, Exchange, VMWare, SharePoint, or other complex Windows applications
Experience with one or more programming/scripting languages such as PowerShell, VBScript, Python, etc.
Technical lead for large scale projects involving Windows technologies
Cloud and hybrid cloud deployments
Experience with Microsoft application deployment automation (i.e. Active Directory, SharePoint, Exchange, Lync)
Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering), experience may be considered in lieu of degree
