Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an CAD Technician IV for the Columbia, SC office.

The CAD Technician IV is responsible for initiating and developing civil engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s engineers. The Technician will work under the supervision of a Project Engineer and apply technical professional proficiency to a variety of Civil Engineering projects with focus in Land Development and Infrastructure plans utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Minimum Requirements

  • HS +6 yrs or AA/AS +4 yrs experience

  • Experience in Civil Engineering design

  • Must be proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Experience in Land Development, Utility Plan & Profiles, and minor site grading

  • Working knowledge of alignments, surfaces, pipe network, points, and sheet set manager

  • Very good knowledge in annotations, dimensioning, line types, layers, blocks and attributes etc.

  • Must have production knowledge of completing Red lines.

  • Working knowledge of CDE platforms (Common Data Environment) ProjectWise, BIM360, BlueBeam etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in computer aided drafting with an A&E emphasis or equivalent experience

  • Relevant experience with a civil engineering consulting firm preferred

  • Knowledge of Auto Track or Vehicle Tracking tools/drafting

  • Understanding of BIM

  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, good communication skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter ready to draft and design private, commercial, and industrial projects
