Responsible for leading the facilities HACCP/Food Safety team including the responsibility for performing all hazard analysis on any new raw material or equipment introduced to the facility.
Assists the Quality Manager in leading the plant’s efforts to maintain GFSI certification. Maintains SQF Practitioner certification.
Establishes and maintains detailed written procedures for the cleaning of all processing equipment in the facility. Performs verification and validation activities on the sanitation program.
Manages the facilities environmental microbiological program including the coordination of all sampling, the tracking of results, the implementation of corrective actions, and the on-going verification and validation of the program.
Coordinates key elements of the allergen control program including ingredient labeling, segregation, storage, cleanup process, verification of cleanups, and validation of cleanups, and on-going verification and validation of the entire allergen control program.
Monitors and provides monthly reporting on key food safety measures (HACCP and Food Safety Prerequisite programs) and leads efforts to drive continuous improvement.
Investigates food safety consumer/customer complaints, identifies appropriate corrective action, and provides professionally acceptable written resolution as needed to the platform Q & FS group and Customers.
Assists Quality Manager and/or leads as required during Regulatory audits, 3rd party Inspections, Corporate audits, and Customer visits.
Coordinates the facility’s food safety self-inspection program in support of the facility’s internal audit program. Provides on-going coaching and training for facility’s internal auditors. Responsible for reviewing all deficiencies, assisting in the development of corrective actions, trending of deficiencies, and tracking and reporting the completion status and verification of corrective actions.
Acts as liaison for all technical and QA issues between cross-functional departments
Minimum of an Associate Degree or relative experience can be substituted
1. A minimum of 1 years in Quality and or Food Industry Management experience.
2. Oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.
3. Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.
4. Microsoft Office experience and SAP experience.
