Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer- RQ-21 Blackjack Flight Line Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) to support the RQ-21 Blackjack at the VMU squadron at Kaneohe Bay, HI.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The full system Flight Line CDI inspect all work and comply with the required QA inspections during all maintenance actions performed by their production work center. CDIs are responsible to the QA Officer when performing QA functions.

RQ-21 Blackjack Flight Line CDI performs specific support functions directly related to RQ-21 maintenance and operations pre and post flight.  Must be skill qualified as an Avionics/Maintenance technician (MOS 6314). 

Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) install, remove, inspect, test, maintain, and repair systems, components, and ancillary equipment. These Marines also perform launch, recovery, and other flight line operations at the organizational maintenance level.

Airframe:

Inspect and maintain aircraft airframes and airframe components, inspect, service, maintain and repair power plant, secondary power systems and fuel systems and perform duties relating to flight line operations. They are required to understand the theory and operation of all aircraft systems in order to identify, diagnosis, execute emergency procedures, and repair aircraft and related systems malfunctions. They are responsible for properly documenting all aircraft inspections, discrepancies, and repairs. They are responsible for requisitioning all required parts/items needed for maintenance. They perform a multitude of ground handling duties in support of flight/maintenance operations e.g. taxi directing of aircraft, ground refueling, aircraft towing, securing/un-securing of aircraft for flight, pre-flight/post flight of aircraft, etc. They are required to utilize and instruct personnel in the usage of various management information systems in the performance of mechanical duties and training of personnel. Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed in the performance of their duties.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components or assemblies, using hand tools or soldering irons.
  • Assemble components such as switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes, using hand tools or soldering irons.
  • Assemble prototypes or models of circuits, instruments, and systems for use in testing.
  • Connect components to assemblies such as radio systems, instruments, magnetos, inverters, and in-flight refueling systems, using hand tools and soldering irons.
  • Coordinate work with that of engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnel
  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze test or performance data to assess equipment operation.
  • Assemble electrical components, subsystems, or systems.
  • Confer with coworkers to coordinate work activities.
  • Develop equipment or component configurations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years aviation experience
  • Minimum of 1 year RQ-21 system experience
  • Complete the CDI training syllabus applicable to their assignment, and pass the written examination administered by QA.
  • O-Level maintenance experience

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Minimum of a DoD Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
