JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 6-8 weeks. The candidate will perform product research and model solar energy systems. Candidates should be working toward a degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, physics or similar with an emphasis on signal processing or power engineering.
Perform a trade study of solar energy solutions and document the results. Create a model to assist with the selection of appropriate system components. Document and provide training to a broad audience on the tool. At the conclusion of the program, a presentation will be prepared and briefed to senior leadership.
Research and convey technical information in oral and written form
Prepare documentation to include tracking and scheduling of program activities
Perform other duties as assigned
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A rising junior or senior in an undergraduate program in STEM program, ideally in electrical engineering, mathematics, physics.
Must meet ICD 704 eligibility requirements for a TS/SCI polygraph security clearance, candidates will be screened as a part of the interview process
Demonstrated ability to create models
Demonstrated ability to work in a largely unsupervised environment
Demonstrated ability to research and analyze complex issues and then communicate well thought out and fact-based conclusions
Demonstrated proficiency in programming, data modeling, analysis and visualization
Experience in creating models in MS Excel, Python or other program environments
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with demonstrated ability to alter method and means of communication to best suited for the receiving audience
Required to uphold a high level of confidentiality of all work performed
Organized, strong attention to detail and self-motivated
Strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and work ethic
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
