Job Summary

AECOM’s Portland office is actively seeking a highly motivated mid-level Civil Engineer with experience in rail and/or highway/roadway design. You will work in an established Transit/Transportation engineering group and work with a broad variety of clients, project types and alternative delivery strategies. Projects include:

  • Roadway design

  • Freight and Transit track design

  • Transportation and multi-modal planning

  • Transit planning and design

  • Traffic signals

  • Safety audits

  • Bridges

You will also have an opportunity to work collaboratively with other AECOM offices on civil infrastructure projects for multiple states, local and federal government agencies across the Pacific Northwest and the US.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a related study area, or

  • Engineering Technical Associates degree in Civil Design or similar area and 5+ years of demonstrated design equivalency or related design experience

  • Experience with designs and plans production for transportation/ civil infrastructure projects including calculations

  • Cost estimating experience on transportation projects.

  • Skilled with Excel and MS Office products.

  • Prior experience designing roadways for transportation projects

  • Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems

  • Experience using InRoads, Civil 3D and BIM design software packages for the conceptual and detailed
