Project Controls Apprentice

We have an excellent Apprenticeship opportunity within our Project Controls team.

This is an entry-level position with limited prior training or relevant work experience required. As an apprentice you will acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks. You will work with close supervision or under clearly defined procedures and develops skills to perform basic activities in own job.

The apprentice role:

Has no supervisory responsibilities.

Uses existing procedures to solve straightforward problems; has limited opportunity to exercise discretion.

Impacts the accuracy of own work; receives close supervision; duties are clearly defined, and methods and tasks are described in detail.

Uses basic written and verbal communication skills to satisfy minimum job requirements.

Requires High School Diploma or equivalent is a minimum.

Specific responsibilities may include:

Builds and operates tools for program activities such as acquisition program planning, proposal pricing, financial management, cost analysis, management techniques, documentation requirements, or network analysis.

Shall administratively support areas of production planning documentment preparation and data retreival to be used by the PMO (Project Management Office) for cost analysis and financial management and maintenance of program security requirements.

Compiles budget documents and graphics for use in actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, and other data sources to control budgets and provide for proper financial decisions.

Prepares financial plans, and data products that assist the PMO in monitoring implementation of financial policies, assembling regular and special-purpose reports, maintaining historical records, facilitating trend analysis, and baseline and forecast cost rates.

Participates in the control of cost and schedule processes for contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.

Retrieves data for analyses and prepares reports so the PMO can ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.

Participates in the preparation of budgets and schedules for all contract work and performs and/or assists in formatting, drafting, routing and filing financial analysis products such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.

Using tracking tools to help the program insure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, and accurately direct preparation of expenditure projections.

Assists the PMO in meeting its goals for timely submission of requests for additional funding to the government.

May draft planning documents including budget exhibits and master schedule using tools and formats as directed by the agency.

Tracks OEM performance through receipt, distribution, tracking,collection, and analysis of deliverables for completeness and quality. Maintains historical files and may utilize workflow applications.

Assists in the development of documentation such as reports, briefings, white papers, or dashboards which portray program performance parameters graphically.

Formats the work breakdown structure after the PMO analyzes and develops its workload. Participates in team efficiency intiatives for process improvement in the PMO.
