Description

SAIC has an exciting new opportunity for a Reliability/Availability/Maintainability (RAM) Engineer for U.S. Army Evaluation Center (AEC) Support Services (AECSS) for Support Services for Ballistic Missile Defense Evaluation Directorate (BMDED). 


This opportunity is available in both: Huntsville, AL and at Schriever Air Force Base/ Colorado Springs, CO.  


This position is contingent upon award of contract. 


The work may be temporarily remote due to COVID-19. Ongoing flexibility to work from home will also be considered with travel to the local office. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. 

  • Provides professional engineering support with increasing independent accomplishment. 

  • Assignments are screened for unusual or difficult problems; receives close supervision on new aspects of assignments. 

  • Performs specific and limited engineering tasks of a broader assignment, under the direction of an experienced engineer; prepares computations, specifications, and reports of limited scope and complexity; applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations; and may be assisted by a few support personnel.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering specialization or related discipline and ten (10) years applicable experience primarily in RAM modeling, test design techniques, design for reliability techniques, predictions, reliability growth management, requirements generation, software and specification inputs is required. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of DoD RAM Regulations required. 
  • Top Secret security clearance is required with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility.
In addition, 5 years of experience in the last 10 years is needed in ONE of the following areas:
  • Developmental test (DT), operational test (OT), and evaluation methods for Army and Joint Service missile defense systems and programs to include but not limited to: radar technology, missile booster dynamics, kill vehicle functions, hypersonic vehicle dynamics, directed energy defense systems, command and control of missile defense systems, missile defense system interoperability, spaced based sensor platforms, missile defense system analysis, or missile defense system operational assessment. 
  • Integrating Army and Joint Service system acquisition documentation in the development of DOD system acquisition products for T&E of BMDS systems and sub-systems. 
  • Application of modeling and simulation as applied to the BMDS
  • Conducting cybersecurity operational testing and monitoring developmental cyber testing.
