Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Integration and Test engineer to provide systems engineering, integration and test, and technical support to the Space and Missile Systems Center, Directorate of Special Programs (SMC/DirSP). SMC/DirSP equips U.S. forces with space control systems to gain, maintain, and exploit space superiority. It directs the planning, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of a complex and dynamic portfolio of space superiority capabilities of the highest national priority. The position requires an individual with expertise and extensive experience in technical programs, technical program management, systems engineering, integration and test, software intensive programs, agile software development, and specific experience working software development in an DevOps environment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and team skills. In addition, the candidate will be expected to continually balance and adjust work priorities to meet short term work suspense and rapidly evolving customer needs.


Key duties/responsibilities include:

 

Providing expert advice to the program manager on technical progress of the program with an emphasis on integration, test, verification, and validation. This position assesses project objectives and proposes requirements allocation across the system(s), informs design trades, authors and manages systems engineering documentation (eg, technical writing), implements configuration management procedures, and reviews and assesses contractor design solutions to determine if they meet requirements and recommends alternative solutions as necessary. The position reviews and assesses contractor deliverables and test/validation/verification activities to ensure requirements are met. The position identifies development, integration, and test risks and notifies the program management team, develops assessments of contractor development, partners with the development contractor to guide integration and testing activities. Performs technical and independent technical risk assessment and evaluation of execution against the technical baseline. Monitors, reviews, and assesses I&T activities and documentation, and provides independent assessments, recommend procedural and system improvements and efficiencies. Assess viability from a programmatic and technical execute perspective. Develop technical requirements, develop test plans and procedures, oversee system and software integration, testing, verification, and validation activities. Provide technical and acquisition support to program milestone reviews to assess progress, issues, and support the meeting of mission requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with minimum 14 years of related experience OR a Masters with minimum of 12 years of related experience with systems engineering, integration and test, and software development and/or testing
  • Must be able to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices to accomplish projects for the government program office
  • Qualified applicants must possess a current and active TS/SCI with a current background investigation within 5 years and consent to a polygraph examination
