AECOM’ C&I Transport Sector provides consultancy, strategic advisory services in all transport disciplines including roads asset management for Public and Private Sector Clients in the Middle East.
The team has recently won a transformational project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to develop the Ministry of Transport Highways Maintenance Master Plan and Performance Based Contract for implementation across the Kingdom. The Highways Maintenance Engineer be based in Riyadh KSA as part of the Project Delivery Team for MoT and will provide Technical Support to the Project Director, Technical Specialist and Project Manager as part of the core Project Team who will also be supported by a strong team of technical specialists from the UK and Middle East. He/she will provide technical inputs on technical issues such as pavement maintenance, materials specifications, inspection manuals, work zone management manuals, etc.
Support the Technical Lead, Project Manager, Stakeholders Liaison Manager and other team members in delivering the project, liaising with the various Ministry of Transport (MoT) maintenance department and the various branches technical staff to obtain relevant information and identify efficiencies and improvement in maintenance activities;
Engineering support for the Technical Delivery Team of the Saudi Road Maintenance Master Plan, implementing Performance Based Contract;
Collect, review, analyses Road Maintenance Data;
Liaise and communicate with AECOM internal technical team in the UK and Middle East to deliver project tasks within timescale and budget;
Support the preparation of highway asset management strategy, policy and life cycle plans;
Display a positive attitude to all activities and tenacity to meet deadlines;
Liaison with clients, attend and record progress meetings/workshops;
Contribute and support AECOM Team in delivering the services of road pavement design and asset management advisory services;
Support AECOM Team in reviewing Business As Usual of current MoT maintenance activities and provide suggestions for improvements;
Use Asset Management software and data to assess current processes and up-date current MoT approach;
Undertake review and preparation of technical specifications for road maintenance activities, including support in the preparation of Performance Based Contract (PBC) KPIs and objectives;
Responsible for preparation of technical reports on various road construction, maintenance & rehabilitation in accordance with highway standards.
Exposure to road maintenance assessment techniques and software
Experience in Micro station and/or AutoCAD software is expected
Exposure to Road Asset Management software and platforms
Knowledge of Road Pavement Analysis techniques
A minimum of 4 - 7 years of experience
Middle East experience is preferred
Previous experience in highway maintenance and highway design
Previous experience within a Consultancy is desirable
