Description

Duties and responsibilities for the IT Systems Integrator/Technologist consist of planning and integration leadership and support across engineering teams supporting the EPA’s End User Services.  The ideal candidate will have a strong business insight and be a strategic thinker.  This position will facilitate collaboration, assist in IT strategy and building strategic initiatives, identify areas of improvement, advise on technology/trends and assist in problem-solving.


Work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19.


 Responsibilities:

  • Lead IT strategic and operational planning, evaluation, integration, deployment, and support of enterprise applications and infrastructures
  • Assists with and leads development of integration and migration plans/schedules
  • Direct continuous improvements of systems and procedures to maintain technological progress and business/customer needs
  • Coordinate and facilitate collaboration between multiple engineering groups on projects, initiatives, and goals
  • Provide organizational leadership, strategies, methodologies, and insights
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT initiatives
  • Maintain knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
  • Establish and communicate requirements for solutions.
  • Interface with stakeholders to create positive understanding, gain feedback, and establish strong long-term relationships

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • 5+ years of supporting a large enterprise environment
  • 7+ years of experience managing/directing an IT function or group including experience in strategic planning, integration, and execution
  • Experience in conducting analyses and research to build strategy
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical groups
  • Continue a culture of collaboration emphasizing teamwork and accountability
  • Strong technical background including an understanding of enterprise desktop engineering, hosting, network, messaging and collaboration, and enterprise architecture technologies and support
  • Strong technical background with Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Microsoft 365, workstation and server operating systems, and Azure
  • Good understanding of Service Desk tiers, support, and integration

Clearance Required

  • Ability to obtain & maintain an EPA Public Trust security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts 
  • Experience with ServiceNow
