Job Summary

AECOM has an opening for an Electrical / ICA Engineer. The foucus of the role is on the design of Instrumentation, Control and Automation systems for pumps, pump stations and waste water tretment plants.

  • Develop design drawings, specifications, technical design reports, Calculations and all other documents for Electrical instrumentation and control works of the medium to large pump stations /Waste Water Treatment Plants/ Reverse Osmosis plants.

  • Overall engineering and analysis for new pumps stations/treatment plants, modifications and upgrade to existing pumping station and treatment plants.

  • Experience in the utility building services design including Lighting, small power, fire alarm and protection system and Earthing and lighting systems.

  • Experience in developing P& IDs, Operation and control philosophy, I/O data point schedules, Low current systems, Interlock and logic diagrams, Loop diagrams, cause and effect schedules, FDS, detailed layouts, cable containments and shielding.

  • Support in progress meetings/communications with contractors, consultants and authorities.

  • To attend site visits as and when required.

  • To ensure QA/QC is in compliance with specification and requirement of the projects. Ensure clients satisfaction and quality of deliverables.

  • Exposure to all EICA design software.

  • Shall perform other tasks as assigned by the reporting manager.

  • Ensure that the Design meets all relevant international Codes and Middle East Standards.

  • Review of Contractor key shop drawings and major materials submittals, when required.

  • Liaise with other related disciplines and co-ordinate work with them.

  • Review design work or studies being carried out by others.

  • Provide support to Field Engineering to resolve Contractor Technical Queries.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 to 8 years work experience

  • Water and wastewater treatment project experience across various design stages

  • Pumping station design experience.

  • Experience of MCC, PLC/SCADA and instrumentation specification and design.

  • Experince with LV electrical design (lighting, electrical building services, fire protection etc.) would be an advantage.

  • Full driving license

  • Middle East projects experience is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in electrical engineering.

  • Membership of/working towards a relevant professional chartered institute, for example IET.
