SAIC is seeking a Digital Signal Processing Systems Engineer with experience in areas such as:

  • Digital signal processing and data collection methods
  • Signal processing algorithm development and analysis
  • Stochastics
  • Control systems
  • Working knowledge of RF systems
This position is located in Chantilly, VA and requires a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. 

The following tasks are representative of those that will be accomplished at the request of the customer:

  • Aid in and monitor the development of digital signal processing-based control systems
  • Provide support to launch and satellite on-orbit test as required by the customer
  • Plan and execute internal and external interface testing to support final system verification, validation, and delivery
  • Develop productive relationships with prime contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other payload and ground system subject matter experts
  • Support the customer in the oversight of the development and documentation of the specifications associated with his or her assigned area
  • Review complex technical design documentation and provide formal and informal feedback to the COTR, subject matter experts, and other customer personnel
  • Participate in requirement sell off events to ensure program success
  • Liaise with mission analysis and acquisition teams to ensure completeness across the acquisition


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent
  • Experience with MATLAB or equivalent DSP development and analysis tools
  • Available to travel domestically
Desired Attributes:
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of SIGINT mission fundamentals
  • Technical understanding of SIGINT architectures and the NRO’s ground architectures
  • Understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures
  • Experience with DOD/IC acquisition and program management processes
